Elevate Style And Spark Curiosity With The Marloe Watch Company Astro Mechanical Watch

Are you in search of a watch that not only tells time but also tells a story? A watch that costs less than £500? A watch that sparks curiosity and conversation? Look no further than the ‘squircle’ Marloe Watch Company Astro. Available in 4 different colourways, each with multiple strap options.

This timepiece has garnered a lot of attention and acclaim, even featuring recently in The Gentleman's Journal, a renowned authority on luxury lifestyle and accessories.

About the Astro Collection

Our Astro collection takes inspiration from the space race and its 'squircle' shape honours the television sets on which these ground-breaking events were witnessed. The case of our watch is designed to resemble the outer case of the television, with the circular dial representing a view from space looking back at Earth. Each Astro model has its own design nods to different iconic moments and people during the space race.

Commitment to Doing Things Properly

Our mechanical watches are more than just timekeeping devices; they are a testament to our commitment to ‘doing things properly’. We take pride in the intricate design and the engineering that go into each Marloe timepiece. The Astro is no exception, from its meticulously crafted dial to the exhibition caseback - which celebrates the Miyota 9039 automatic movement whirring within - this watch is built to last.

Inspired by Space Race Greatness

The Astro Valentina draws inspiration from humankind’s first footsteps into the universe. Icons such as Sputnik, Gagarin, and Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space travel, have all influenced the aesthetic of the Valentina.

The Astro Eagle pays homage to perhaps the most iconic moment in human history - the historic act of placing two feet on another celestial body. Launched on 20th July, 1969, Apollo 11 carried astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins to the moon. Armstrong's infamous words, spoken as he stepped onto the moon's dusty surface resonated globally, etching this moment in history.

The black dial represents the darkness of venturing into the unknown, whilst the orange flourishes represent the hues of the sun as it wraps around Earth. The radial record-like texture is a nod to the two Voyager missions that launched with vinyl phonographs made from gold-plated copper and etched with pictures and sounds from Earth.

The Astro Stellar features a deep blue hue, accented with flashes of orange, drawing inspiration from the colours reflecting from the International Space Station. This vital joint venture between multiple nations has propelled advancements in science, engineering and sociology, enriching our understanding of the world and beyond. The honeycomb-textured upper dial is a subtle nod to the iconic pentagonal tunnel traversed by Dr David Bowman in Stanley Kubrick's timeless masterpiece "2001: A Space Odyssey."

The Astro Futura epitomises the present phase of space exploration - reusable rockets and cutting-edge space capsules. Reflecting the future of space travel as envisioned by companies like Space-X, Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic, the Astro Futura symbolises humanity's aspirations to return to the moon and venture further into the depths of our solar system.

Wear It Every Day, Everywhere

The versatility of the Astro makes it the perfect companion for all occasions. Whether you're navigating through life in the urban jungle or journeying off on a weekend adventure, this timepiece is "light and comfortable" and effortlessly combines style with functionality. As The Gentleman's Journal noted, the Astro is designed to be worn all day, every day, making it a timeless addition to your wardrobe.

In conclusion, with its inspired design, trustworthy engineering and commitment to quality, this timepiece is more than just a watch, it's a statement of style and individuality sure to get noticed and start conversations.

  • I have a white Astro. I almost returned it to use as a discount for your Pacific, but the Astro grows on you with its uniqueness, so I kept it and wear it now with a leather strap.

  • I’m on the hate it side style wise but the best collectibles are usually ‘outsiders’ . If you want a collectible to pass down, this is the Marloe watch to buy. If you like it, that’s a bonus.
