Swiss Made with a manual, hand-wound customised mechanical movement, gold pillow dial, radial textured sub-dial, applied indices and sapphire box crystal.

The classic 50s style dial has a two-tone gold base with black markings, gold pips and polished block applied numerals. The chamfered hour/minute hands have a polished finish and are complemented by a contrasting hairline seconds hands. All encapsulated in our first ever 1-micron gold PVD tri-finish bespoke case.

The Devil's in the Detail

The dial of the Pacific 55 has a pillow cross-section - it rises up from the edge of the dial to a central plateau - which makes the dial jump out from the confines of the case. The two-tone gold base with black markings is complemented by gold pips and a sunken sub-dial with radial texture to add more contrast to the smooth, silky dial.

Polished gold applied numerals extend the dimensionality of the dial and create sublime depth, whilst the tri-finish custom tone gold-plated case, a first for MWC, is elegant and very much of the era, and celebrates the dawn of luxury travel with aplomb.

GOLD PALLET

The 55 celebrates a beautiful gold pallet that harks back to the gold watches of the 50s and 60s, and features a radial pattern seconds sub-dial.

Visual Treat

The dial features a two-tone bubble dial with polished gold applied markings which fall off the edge of the dial's curvature - a magnificent visual treat.

MOVEMENT

Our customised Sellita SW216-1 is a manual movement with 24 jewels, running at 28,800 vibrations per hour, adjusted in three positions with a power reserve of 40+ hours.

The Pacific's incredible sapphire box crystal has the most stunning refractions, you'll simply never get bored of checking the time.

Tri-finish CASE

The Pacific features our first ever tri-finish case, with polished upper and lower decks, vertically brushed sides and, as a nod to the utilitarian mechanics of the jet age, a frosted surface in each side-aperture.

Pacific 55

The Pacific collection is inspired by the dawn of the jet age - with each individual model paying homage to a particular era of jet travel.

The Pacific 55 celebrates the introduction and splendour of First Class jet travel. Grandeur was at the top of requirements; the human experience was more important as a way to sell this new, extravagant method of transport to the lucky few. The Golden Era of travel had begun. Flight crews and passengers dressed like the airplane was their runway. Champagne, cigars and caviar adorned the gilt menus, whilst leg-room was palatial by today's standards.

COMPLEX DESIGN

The challenge behind the Pacific was to create a watch that feels fluid, that exudes an effortless approach to a complex design. The Pacific features one unbroken compound curve, signifying flight, the high altitude smoothness and simplicity of jet travel. In contrast, the underside, much like the profile of a wing, is turbulent, a nod to airflow and the engineering of plane design.

The waveform line presented its own challenge: to keep the watch feeling thin and comfortable on the wrist - hence the smoothed scallops that have been scooped out at each corner of the caseback; visually it keeps things trim on the wrist and physically comfortable.

CLASSIC SIZING

The case of the Pacific measures 40mm in diameter, a comfortable size for most wrists, and features 20mm lugs - a classic sizing combination. To the peak of the box sapphire crystal the watch has a depth of 12mm, whilst the 47.9mm lug-to-lug sizing complements the case perfectly.
