To celebrate Ardnamurchan Distillery's 10-year anniversary we present the Glenbeg Blue, paired with their first ever 10-year-old sherry matured single cask release, a defining moment in their journey.

A Special Edition collection of 292 exclusive sets comprising a Glenbeg Blue watch, a 70cl bottle of cask #233, a 5cl miniature and a small plug of cask #233 itself.

DETAILS

The Glenbeg Blue is the cumulation of both brands’ passion for detail and design; bringing a new, modern consumer to watches and whisky, and signalling the meteoric rise in popularity of whisky as the spirit of choice. Featuring a customised Swiss Made STP1-21 automatic movement, the calibre includes a copper-plated Ardnamurchan Distillery rotor and colour-matched date wheel for a sleek, integrated, subtle design.

The Glenbeg Slate Blue dial is complemented by copper detailing, inspired by the copper stills used to distil every batch of Ardnamurchan’s Scotch whisky. Presented on a perforated Oloroso sherry leather strap to complement the copper accents, additional straps are available to purchase separately to transform the watch for any occasion.

Nose
Malty. Apple pie. Cedar gym hall. Big bright reds - strawberry, raspberry, little cherry maybe. Juicy. Oven chips, buttery. Chilli jam. Tobacco.

Palate
Red. Juicy dark fruits. Lovely oak and cedar wood. Strawberry jam. Coastal salt. Juicy raisins. Stewed apples and pears. Cinnamon spice. Bit of damp earth mixed with pepper. Overall a bold integrated coastal sherry dram.

MARLOE x ARDNAMURCHAN

CASK WINDOW

The Glenbeg Blue features a date wheel coloured to match the dial which is seen through a cask-shaped window bevelled with copper.

COLLABORATION

The name Ardnamurchan comes from the Scottish Gaelic Àird nam Murchan, which translates to "Headland of the great seas".

PERSUADER HANDS

The Glenbeg Blue's hour and minute hands are inspired by the Persuader, a tool used to extract the bung from an oak cask. The polished hairline seconds hand features a copper valinch inspired counterweight.

Lume

The Glenbeg Blue sports Swiss Superluminova BG-W9 lume on both the dial and hands to aid low light time referencing.

Beating Heart

Behind the exhibition caseback lies the spectacular engineering marvel that is the STP-1-21 with our custom made Ardnamurchan copper rotor.

Small Batch

The Glenbeg Blue is a Special Edition of 292 watches, each watch sequentially numbered and matching the numbered bottle of Ardnamurchan whisky.

In an industry that has been going for centuries, 10 years may not seem a long time, but for a young, independent distillery, reaching this milestone is truly something to celebrate. It feels like a seal of approval - as though you've earned your stripes.

CASK 233

Forming part of a Special Edition collection of only 292 exclusive sets, the Glenbeg Blue is accompanied by a bottle of very special, single cask 10-year-old fully sherry matured whisky from Cask No. 233, the 233rd cask ever to be filled at The Ardnamurchan Distillery in 2014 and picked over many others by Sales Director Connal Mackenzie and both of Marloe’s founders, Oliver Goffe and Gordon Fraser.

ARDNAMURCHAN

Also included in the collaborative set is a 5cl miniature, to allow collectors to experience the 10-year-old single cask whisky without breaking the seal on the exclusive full-size bottle. A cask plug cut from the staves of Cask No. 233, which held this whisky for its entire maturation, also features in the collection alongside a hand-numbered collector’s card.

Creating the ideal gift or collector’s item for whisky and watch lovers alike, owners of the Special Edition run will bring a piece of the distillery into their home – a unique and enviable gem in any collection. Finally, each of the 292 recipients will also receive a ticket to attend a ‘Behind the Scenes’ tour of the Ardnamurchan Distillery in the Scottish Highlands, valid until the end of 2025.

The beating heart

The Glenbeg Blue is powered by the Swiss Made STP-1-21, which we've customised with a copper rotor - replicating the copper stills at the distillery. The red engraving is inspired by the traditional FORSYTHS still hatch, with the Spirit Still from Ardnamurchan Distillery outlined in Slate Blue. Côtes de Genève stripes and radial brushing complete the textural, sculptural counter-weight.

Distilled into a Watch

The case is designed to feel as though it would be at home in a distillery, with a subtly barrel-shaped profile and unique still hatch design on the caseback, exhibiting the beautiful STP movement within. Sapphire crystal with 5 layers of blue AR coating is used for the main crystal, with sapphire uncoated for the rear. To complete the feel of distillery equipment, the Glenbeg Blue features a valve crown design, sealed to offer 100m water resistance.
