The deep blue of the open ocean is endearing, inspirational and frightening. From icy blue to vivid aquamarine, the ocean captivates, no matter how deep or wide. Being drawn to the sea is a feeling that some sense deep within them, a calling you might say. We feel it, which is why a lot of our watches follow a nautical theme. Blue is a calming colour - fresh, clean, rich and welcoming. It also happens to make for a beautiful watch dial.

The Devil's in the detail

A dark marine blue throughout, the main dial features the same ‘bendy’ stripes as the Rescue dial and, again, lends an endearing textural element to the otherwise matte blue dial. Surrounding this is a machined steel ring that brings some visual sparkle to an innately brooding dial, with dark blue printed minute marks for legibility and ease of time reference.

The inner rotating chapter ring retains the same dark blue of the dial, with white printed numerals and a vivid cyan perimeter line. A luminous pip at 12 o’clock aids quick time referencing.

The minute and hour hands are fully polished with a gentle sword profile - great legibility in all lights. The hairline running seconds hand is bright white with a turquoise centre circle - a magnificent sweeping hand standing in stark contrast against the deep blue of the dial.

EMINENTLY WEARABLE

The case size of the Timer is a bold yet eminently wearable 42mm at bezel and, despite the additional complication of an internal mechanism for the chapter ring, remains a surprisingly slender 12mm, with a 22mm strap width.We’ve retained the strong case design from the original Solent, bespoke and aggressive.

The grippy crown also remains, but now there are two of them. Double-sided anti-reflective coating is standard on our watches now, but is improved with additional coatings to suppress more reflections and boost clarity. It all adds up to a watch that feels familiar, yet intrinsically new.
